Add custom fields and objects

note

This is for admins. Other roles don't see Data model in Settings. If you need a new field, ask your admin.

The CRM comes with standard objects and fields. You can add your own, so the CRM tracks what matters to an advertising business.

Ideas

These don't exist yet. They're examples of what you could add:

  • On Companies: a Company type select field with options such as Advertiser, Agency and Media owner.
  • On Opportunities: Flight start and Flight end date fields, and a Channels multi-select field with options such as TV, Radio, Digital and Out-of-home.
  • New objects: Campaigns, linked to a company and an opportunity, and Insertion Orders, linked to a campaign.

Add a field

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of the sidebar to open Settings.
  2. Click Data model.
  3. Click the object, such as Companies.
  4. Click New Field.
  5. Choose a field type, such as Text, Number, Date, Select, Multi-select or Currency.
  6. Type a name for the field.
  7. Set any options under Customization, such as the choices for a Select field.
  8. Click Save.

A new field doesn't show in existing table views yet. To show it, click Options, then Fields, in each view where you want it.

Create an object

  1. In Settings, click Data model.
  2. Click Add object.
  3. Choose an icon, and type the name under Singular and Plural, such as Campaign and Campaigns.
  4. Add a description if you like.
  5. Click Save.

The new object appears in the sidebar, with a Name field to start. Add more fields the same way as above.

Use a field of the Relation type. For example, to link each campaign to a company:

  1. In Data model, click Campaigns.
  2. Click New Field.
  3. Choose Relation.
  4. Under Object destination, choose Companies.
  5. Under Relation type, choose Belongs to one, because each campaign has one company.
  6. Name the field, such as Advertiser.
  7. Under Field on destination, name the matching field that companies get, such as Campaigns.
  8. Click Save.

Hide or remove a field or object

Open the field, or the object's Settings tab, and go to Danger zone:

  • Deactivate hides it but keeps the data, so you can bring it back later.
  • Delete removes it and all its data for good. It's only there for fields and objects you created. To confirm, you type yes.
