Manage members and roles
This is for admins. You need a role that can manage members and roles, such as Admin.
All of this is in Settings → Members, which has three tabs: Team, Invite and Roles.
Invite a teammate
The CRM can't send email yet, so Invite by email doesn't work. Share the invite link instead.
- Click the gear icon at the top of the sidebar to open Settings.
- Click Members.
- Click the Invite tab.
- Under Invite by link, click Copy link.
- Send the link to your teammate directly, for example in a chat message.
Anyone who has the link can join the workspace. Share it only with people who should have access.
New members get the default role, which is Member to start with. Members can see, add, edit and delete all records, and import and export them. They can't change workspace settings, the data model, members, roles or workflows.
Change a member's role
- In Settings → Members, click the Team tab.
- Click the person.
- Click the Permissions tab.
- Choose a new role under Role.
- Click Update role to confirm.
Create a role
The CRM comes with two roles. Admin has full access and can't be edited. Member is described above. Create your own role when you need something in between, such as a read-only role for a freelancer.
- In Settings → Members, click the Roles tab.
- Click Create Role.
- On the Permissions tab, choose what the role can do. For example, under Objects, keep See Records on All Objects and turn off Edit Records on All Objects.
- Click the Settings tab and type a name for the role.
- Click Save.
To give someone the role, open the role, click the Assignment tab and click Assign to member. Each person has one role at a time.
Change the default role
The default role is the one new members get when they join with the invite link.
- In Settings, click General.
- Click the Security tab.
- Under Default Role, choose a role.
Remove a member
- In Settings → Members, click the Team tab.
- Click the person.
- Click Delete account.
- Click Remove member to confirm.
The person can no longer sign in to the workspace. The records they worked on stay in the CRM, but the person is removed as their owner or assignee. You can't undo this.
