Track deals in the pipeline

Opportunities are your deals, such as a campaign proposal or a media plan you're pitching. Each opportunity has these fields:

  • Name, Amount and Close date
  • Stage: how far along the deal is
  • Company and Point of Contact: who the deal is with
  • Owner: the teammate in charge of it

Open the pipeline

  1. In the sidebar, click Opportunities.
  2. Click the view name at the top left. At first it shows All Opportunities.
  3. Click By Stage.

By Stage is a Kanban board with a column for each stage: New, Screening, Meeting, Proposal and Customer. The number at the top of each column adds up the Amount of the deals in it.

Add a deal

  1. Hover over the title of the column for the deal's stage.
  2. Click the + that appears.
  3. Type the deal's name and press Enter.
  4. Fill in Amount, Close date, Company and Point of Contact.

The deal starts in the column you picked. You can also click New at the bottom of a column, or New Opportunity at the top right.

Move a deal to another stage

Drag the card into another column. The deal's Stage changes to match. You can also open the deal and change its Stage field.

Change what the board shows

  • To change the number at the top of the columns, click it and pick another calculation, such as a count of the deals.
  • To choose the fields on each card, click Options, then Fields.
  • To show only the deal names, click Options, then Layout, and turn on Compact view.

For more about views, see Create and save views.

Change the stages

Only admins can do this. The stages are the options of the Stage field, so an admin can rename them, add new ones or remove them. For example, they could match how the agency sells: brief, proposal, negotiation and signed.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of the sidebar to open Settings.
  2. Click Data model.
  3. Click Opportunities.
  4. Click the Stage field.
  5. Edit the options. Click Add option to add a stage.
  6. Click Save.

Before you remove a stage, move its deals to another stage.
