Sign in and manage your account

  1. Go to tasks.jacksonblank.com.
  2. In E-mail or username, type the e-mail address or username your admin gave you.
  3. Type your Password.
  4. Click Log in.

The first time you sign in, Planka shows the board's terms of use. Read them, tick the box at the bottom and click Continue. If the terms change later, Planka asks you again.

If you've turned on two-factor authentication, Planka asks for a code next. See Two-factor authentication.

There's no link for a forgotten password. If you can't remember yours, ask your admin to set a new one.

Sign out

Click your name at the top right, then click Log Out.

If you leave Planka idle, it signs you out after 30 minutes, unless you've changed that setting. Shortly before that, it shows You will be logged out soon. Click Stay logged in to carry on. You can change the wait under Preferences, described below.

Your settings

Click your name at the top right, then click Settings. The window has four tabs: Account, Preferences, Notifications and Security.

Account

  • Picture: click the large picture, then Upload new avatar.
  • Details: change Name, Phone or Organization and click Save.
  • Language: choose one from the list under Language. Two entries are called English: the one with the US flag writes dates month first, and the one with the UK flag writes the day first.

Other people can see your name, username, picture, phone and organization. Only you and admins can see your e-mail address.

Change your password

  1. On the Account tab, click Edit Password.
  2. Type your New password. The bar under it shows how strong it is.
  3. Type your Current password.
  4. Click Save.

Planka won't accept a weak password. If nothing happens when you click Save, make the new password longer. After the change, you're signed out of Planka on your other devices.

Edit Username and Edit E-mail work the same way. If one of these buttons is missing, that detail is locked for your account, so ask your admin.

Preferences

  • Subscribe to my own cards by default sends you notifications about cards you create. It's off at first.
  • Subscribe to card when commenting sends you notifications about cards you've commented on. It's on at first.
  • Turn off recent card highlighting stops Planka highlighting the card you opened last.
  • Auto logout sets how long Planka waits before signing you out. Only choose Never on a computer that nobody else uses.

The Notifications tab is covered in Comments and notifications, and the Security tab in Two-factor authentication.
